What is the Experienced Sessions?
RhythmetriX combines music with movement and mindfulness to rewire the brain and regulate the nerves through unique modalities of group drumming. Our belief is that deep, impactful psychological work does not always have to be a dark, scary, individual experience. Quite the contrary: our sessions have proven that we can facilitate that work in a fun, playful, supportive group-environment. That's what this is all about.
Throughout the last three years, we’ve been hosting psilocybin sessions to find a perfect middle-ground of plant and music as medicine, and we believe we’ve achieved that. We’ve identified what we call, “The Flow Zone” which is our optimal dose to combine the power of psilocybin with group drumming, and that dose rests between 0.6 and 1.5 grams – doses vary on each individual, their experience, tolerance, and metabolism. Given the low dose and safe container, we minimize risk of negative experiences and maximize the chance of a great time.
Our intention is to facilitate a connection between drumming and a regulated state of being. We accomplish this by building a cohesive group over the course of two evenings through various rhythmic engagements. The first evening, Friday, will feature and introductory opening circle, and then two short sober drumming sessions. Here, RhythmetriX facilitators will help show people how to comfortably be part of a drum circle that listens, connects, plays, and evolves with itself. We will close by going over the next day's schedule. Saturday will be the day we imbibe and take part in ceremony. Sunday, we have one morning drumming session, then closing circle and integration discussion.

The Intention and Goal Behind the Event:
Our goal is to tangibly prove that the interaction between psilocybin and specific rhythmic engagements will 1) induce neuroplasticity, 2) elicit a transcendental experience, 3) create an association between drumming and said transcendental states of being, which 4) provide an outlet (drumming) participants can turn to without the use of any substances to achieve similar, if not the same, results in the future.
For this event, we have a special 5th intention, which is to safely and positively introduce psychedelics to those who are curious, have not experienced them yet, or want to experience them in a safe, group setting with experienced professionals on hand.
Ultimately, we believe that after this event, simply drumming will trigger your mood congruent memory, which will enable you to teleport back into a transcendental state of being simply by engaging in those group drumming experiences – no psilocybin necessary. This gives you the tool to use something, be it a real drum or a simple tapping of your fingers somewhere on your body, to help connect you to self, regulate, and come back to the moment.
Simply put, our desire is to provide you with rhythmic tools you can immediately utilize and integrate into your daily lives and routines to live a more mindful, present, and grounded existence.
