Mental Health Programs

A rhythmic approach to mental health & wellness

Mental Health and Wellness Specific Programming

At RhythmetriX, we use the science of rhythmacology and mindfulness to promote psychological and emotional well-being across a wide spectrum of needs. Our drumming experiences tap into the brain's natural response to rhythm, reducing stress, enhancing focus, and building not only social connections, but neurological ones as well. From anxiety and depression to focus and cognitive resilience, our approach supports diverse mental health goals, empowering individuals to find balance, confidence, and community through the power of rhythm.

Curious how our protocols can help develop executive functioning and emotional regulation skills in your population? Scroll down and contact us for a free consultation!

Pre-Frontal Cortex

Responsible for executive functioning. Paying attention to specific patterns -- on purpose -- and being able to manually shift that awareness from one thing to another helps strengthen this vital region of the brain.

Corpus Collosum

This is a web that connects the two parts of the brain. Drumming thickens these fibers, which enables the right and left hemispheres to communicate better.

Dopamine and Serotonin

The "do more" and the "feel good" molecules are naturally released by participating in drumming activities.

Amygdala

The amygdala processes  fear and pleasure, and triggers the "fight-or-flight" response in threatening situations. It plays a crucial role in emotional memory, social interaction, and is often overactive in anxiety-related disorders. Our programs help quiet the amygdala and pull people into the present moment.

Broca/Wernicke's areas

Responsible for speech perception and formation. Research shows they activate when people improvise music together. Our programs make improvising accessible and fun; no experience needed!

Neuroplasticity

Creating new neural connections is a natural byproduct of learning and going through memorable experiences. We accomplish both -- together!
