Our Drum Programs for Children
RhythmetriX offers programming for kids of all ages and abilities! We manage groups between 10 and 1,000 kids, depending on your needs. Some of our offerings include:
Interactive Assemblies
Kids will learn all about drums in an educational assembly. We'll set up a plethora of rhythmic instruments, discuss the history and cultures behind those instruments, and engage the kids in a series of rhythmic activations. Students have the option to stand and join us in some clapping, stomping, and chanting activations before we bring them back down to a calm, malleable state.
Interactive Workshops
If you're seeking a more hands-on experience for your kids, we offer that too! During our school drumming workshops, we will demonstrate how drumming works, teach them a rhythm, engage them in ear-training games, and then let them unleash some energy!

African Cultural Programming
Pay homage to one of the birthplaces of group drumming and the power of rhythm in community with our African drum program.
Staff Trainings
Our drum programs aren't just for students — they benefit staff too! Your school staff will learn how to connect, communicate, and lead more effectively. They can apply these learnings in the classroom by utilizing mindfulness to help facilitate a more intentional learning environment and understand and spot behavioral tells and cues. When staff understand how to help shift kids toward more desirable behaviors, it reduces their own stress and burnout! We offer various modalities, be it a session for your staff to destress, connect, and enjoy, or, an informative session where we teach your teachers how to hold their own “Rhythmic Interventions” autonomously, without the need for us to keep coming back.
Performances
Feel the rhythm with a RhythmetriX performance at your school! We'll visit your establishment and perform for up to 45 minutes. Performances begin with a brief informative session on our drums before getting right into the action. We have choreographed and improvised performances involving drums and the didgeridoo to provide kids with a musical experience unlike traditional American music, but just as much fun!
Neurodivergent & Special Needs
Rhythmetrix is accessible, inclusive, and exceptionally effective for neurodivergent and special needs children because it directly tackles key areas of delayed development, particularly the prefrontal cortex. The use of challenging, non-verbal rhythmic engagement provides a necessary skill -- how to pay attention on purpose -- that is often not taught. By leveraging movement and rhythm for self-regulation, the program equips children with a consistent, non-judgmental internal tool to manage emotional reactions and build resilience in challenging moments in a phenomenal SEL modality that is downright fun -- especially for cohorts with ADHD, autism, down syndrome, and more.

Max came out to Mountain Vista Elementary, (Cherry Creek School District) in Aurora, CO. All second graders got to participate in a Mindfulness Drumming Experience. This was conducted in 3 small group sessions lasting 45 minutes each. When researching creative, engaging, and interactive ways to combat depression, anxiety, stress while also increasing mindfulness and whole wellbeing, I came across Rhythmetrix. Mr. Max and Mr. Matt from Rhythmetrix taught us about different instruments from around the world. Students experienced whole body rhythmic movement, while also learning several calming and mindfulness strategies. A few highlights were hearing and feeling the vibrations from an Australian Didgeridoo, dancing to a Japanese Taiko Drum, and calm breathing to the beats of an Ivory Coast Djembe Drum and Tongue Drum. Students interacted and participated throughout the performance, all while building focus, confidence, and positive social relationships. In addition, all students had a chance to drum together use drumsticks and Boom Whackers. I highly recommend Max with Rhythmetrix!
